SERGIO CIRIO: A HISTORY OF GOALS
Born in 1985 in Badalona, Spain, Sergio Cirio began his football journey at the prestigious FC Barcelona academy. After a brief spell with Mallorca B, he began to make his mark in Spain’s Segunda División B (then the third tier).

His first international experience came in the 2008/2009 season with Atromitos in Greece's Super League 1. At 23, he impressed during his debut season in a top-flight league.

Returning to Spain, Cirio continued to grow as a player and ended the 2013/2014 season as the top scorer of Segunda División B, playing for CE L’Hospitalet.

He then moved to Australia, joining Adelaide United in the A-League, where he spent three successful seasons and became a fan favorite. During his time there, he won the FFA Cup in 2014 and was a key player in the club’s A-League Championship win in the 2015/2016 season.

In 2017/2018, Cirio joined UD Ibiza, helping the club achieve a historic promotion from the fourth division to La Liga 2, Spain’s second tier. He became the club’s all-time top scorer and played a vital role in its rise among the top 40 clubs in Spanish football.

Following a serious injury, Cirio retired in 2021 at the age of 36. Today, he is considered a true legend in Ibiza and remains the historical top scorer of UD Ibiza. He continues to be involved with the club as the Head Coach of the UD Ibiza U23 team.
